I would like to share our experience with MACS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic after my daughter’s double jaw surgery in December 2025. Before making her decision, my daughter carefully researched many surgeons. After a detailed video consultation with Dr. Park at MACS, she felt confident in both his expertise and his approach. He was clear, professional, and reassuring. Jade, the clinic’s translator, is truly a gem. She responded quickly to every question and followed through on every detail throughout the entire process. As an international patient traveling from the West Coast of the United States, that level of communication meant everything to us. We arrived in Korea in mid-December. The very next day, my daughter had her in-person consultation and medical clearance. Her surgery was scheduled on the third day. It began at 12 pm and was completed by 4 pm. Initially, I was worried that the surgery was performed in the clinic rather than a hospital. However, the clinic’s operating room is hospital-grade, and the care she received reassured me immediately. There is 24-hour nurse monitoring, and Dr. Park performs only two surgeries per day, allowing patients to receive close attention. My daughter stayed in recovery for two nights, sharing the space with only one other patient. The first three days after surgery were the most challenging. With the wafer and elastics in place, breathing felt difficult at times. The nurses were attentive and innovative, placing shortened drinking straws at both sides of her mouth to allow better airflow. She was on a liquid diet for the first week. By day 10, she was able to eat soft foods like congee and udon and began daily 30-minute de-swelling laser treatments. I had never heard of this before, but it was impressive to see how effectively it reduced swelling. By day 11, as her strength improved with better nutrition, we were able to go downstairs for slow walks in the gym. From day 12 onward, she could manage risotto, spaghetti, fish cake, and pho. We even went shopping, although she continued wearing her compression band most of the time. At her final consultation before we returned home, Dr. Park showed us a 3D X-ray demonstrating exactly how her jaw had been repositioned and how her overbite was corrected. The precision and technology were remarkable. Seeing those results gave us tremendous confidence in the entire process. We stayed in Korea for 20 nights. Everything progressed smoothly. As a mother, I was extremely anxious before the surgery, but the experience exceeded our expectations. My daughter resumed work shortly after returning home. One month post-surgery, she is eating normal meals, has no pain, and most importantly, achieved the outcome she had hoped for. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Park, Jade, and the entire team at MACS for their professionalism, skill, and compassionate care.
I've recently undergone a "surgery-first" (surgery -> then orthodontics) double jaw surgery at MACS and my experience has been great so far. From the surgery itself, recovery (ofc I still have long way to go), communication, to admin, everything has been a smooth sailing. I chose this surgery clinic based on the sheer experience and background of the surgeon doctor Park as well as the communication and great care from Jade (the friendly lady that will be communicating you), Jade is quick to respond to any questions or concerns you might have and also discuss your vision for the surgery. Communicating and the care you receive from her throughout this whole process also felt different from other clinics, It felt like I was speaking to a friend helping me through this journey, especially when you meet her in person, she is so funny, full of personality and truly cares about your satisfaction and comfort - trust me you will love Jade! Another green flag also was they didn't force me into surgery straight away, they made sure surgery-first approach was possible, safe and confirmed with an in person visit before proceeding with the surgery which made me feel like they care about my safety first. You will also get to see the morphs of your expected results which was really cool to see as I know other clinics do not offer this! Long story short, if you're considering a double jaw surgery, you will be in good hands here :) (just make sure to eat enough of your favourite dishes before surgery, because you will be on liquid and soft food diet for a while, I miss samgyeopsal and chicken sm)
