I learned about this clinic through a Korean friend. When I asked her where Koreans usually go for jaw and facial bone contouring, she immediately recommended this place. She even asked me whether I wanted the best results even if it’s expensive, or a cheaper option that’s just “okay” 😂 Of course, I chose the one with the best results. This clinic doesn’t rely on heavy advertising, so I honestly think not many foreigners know about it. I first contacted them via Instagram, but until now I still haven’t received a reply to that message — even though I can see that they continue to post stories regularly. They mainly communicate through KakaoTalk. I’m also someone who chooses doctors based on feeling, and I was very fortunate to meet Dr. Lim. He is incredibly kind, gentle, and surprisingly polite. I consulted another doctor at the clinic about facial lifting because I was worried about skin sagging after jaw surgery. After examining my skin, the doctor honestly told me that I didn’t need it at all, with absolutely no pressure or upselling. I clearly stated that I only wanted jawline contouring and cheekbone reduction, not chin surgery, and they fully respected my decision. I would also like to sincerely thank my interpreter, who took wonderful care of me throughout my stay. She stayed close by and thoughtfully helped me order mouthwash and a humidifier to be delivered to my accommodation, as I was coughing quite badly. Her attentiveness and kindness truly made a big difference in my recovery. Flying 6 hours to come here was absolutely worth it. Everyone at the clinic was very kind. After surgery, I stayed one night at the hospital, and the night-shift assistant was incredibly caring. I had a lot of phlegm and couldn’t sleep, yet she responded immediately whenever I pressed the call button. Even around 4 a.m., when I tried to get water by myself, she noticed and still got up to help me. I truly appreciated that level of care. The next morning, I received a facial mask treatment and was discharged. In the following days, I returned every 3–5 days for skin care, facial masks, and light therapy. My procedures included cheekbone reduction, jawline contouring, facial liposuction, outer bone contouring, and masseter muscle reduction. It has been 10 days post-surgery now. I’m still swollen, but I can clearly feel that I’m recovering day by day. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the entire process and post-operative care. I’ll provide an honest update again after 2 months with my final results — I truly hope they will be amazing

One percent was extremely attentive and caring. The aftercare is great and the surgeon was realistic in what I can expect. Alice, the english interpreter, was extremely helpful and great at thoroughly communicating everything, she truly went above and beyond! If I had to get surgery again I would be sure to come back here. Thank you doctor Kim Gyeonghoe and Kim Jonggu :)

My experience at 1% Plastic Surgery was, unfortunately, not what I expected from a clinic that markets itself as a premium destination for facial surgery. In January 2026, I underwent multiple procedures at 1% Plastic Surgery, including incisional double eyelid surgery, ptosis repair, lateral canthoplasty, 3-point facial contouring, a temporal lift, and fat grafting. I paid over $30,000 USD (approximately 46 million KRW) because I believed I was entrusting my care to one of the best clinics in Korea. Immediately after surgery, I noticed that my right eye looked significantly different from my left. Having never undergone eyelid surgery before, I trusted the clinic when they repeatedly reassured me that the asymmetry was simply swelling and that I needed to wait. Over the next six months, I continued raising my concerns and was consistently told that everything was normal and would improve with time. It did not. Today, my right eyelid folds over itself, leaving me with what appears to be a monolid despite previously having prominent double eyelids. More importantly, the excess skin partially obstructs my field of vision, causing daily visual difficulties that have affected both my quality of life and my ability to work efficiently. After six months of being told to wait, the clinic acknowledged there was a problem. However, instead of offering revision surgery, they offered only 2.2 million KRW, despite the fact that I now have to pay for consultations, revision surgery, airfare, accommodations, and time away from work to correct the outcome. When I asked for an explanation directly from the surgeon who performed my eyelid surgery, I was informed that he no longer works at the clinic. As a patient, this was incredibly frustrating because I was no longer able to receive answers from the physician who actually operated on me. I have also requested my complete medical records and an itemized breakdown of the approximately 46 million KRW I paid. At the time of writing this review, I have not received those records. While researching revision options, I also found a recent public Google review from another international patient describing a similar experience after surgery by the same surgeon. Although I cannot speak to another person’s individual experience, reading that review reinforced my concerns and prompted me to share my own - especially seeing as he no longer practices at 1 percent. The attached photos include 3 pictures taken before surgery (one with makeup and two without, one was right before surgery), showing my naturally deep double eyelids. My goal was simply to create more symmetry and achieve a softer almond-shaped eye. You can also see my eyes immediately after surgery, where the right eye already appeared noticeably different from the left. I understand that every surgery carries risks and that no surgeon can guarantee perfection. However, what disappointed me most was not only the outcome, but the aftercare. Being repeatedly told for six months that my concerns were “normal,” only to later have the problem acknowledged without a meaningful solution, has been incredibly difficult. I sincerely hope my experience helps future patients make an informed decision. I encourage anyone considering surgery here to ask detailed questions, obtain multiple consultations, and fully understand both the surgical plan and how complications will be handled should they arise.
