I visited Shinebeam Clinic in Gangnam after seeing their Instagram content and expecting a more personalized and premium experience. Unfortunately, my experience did not match what was advertised. The initial consultation was decent, but it felt very basic and transactional. Unlike what I expected from their social media presence, there was no skin analysis or in-depth assessment of my skin concerns. The consultant mostly asked what procedures I wanted to do instead of evaluating my skin and recommending treatments tailored to my needs. I ended up getting PRP microneedling, which seemed to be the treatment recommended to most patients, Botox because I specifically requested it, and a facial treatment. I also asked about lasers for skin tightening and lifting, hoping to get professional guidance on which option would best suit my skin. However, the consultant simply mentioned that laser treatments were expensive, and would need multiple sessions to achieve results. The biggest disappointment came on the treatment floor (4th floor). After paying, I handed my receipt to the receptionist, who briefly pointed me toward the wash station and told me to wash my face and wait. There was no explanation about the treatment process, estimated waiting time, or what to expect. The treatment area itself was not made up of private rooms but consisted of multiple small beds separated only by curtains. The environment felt very crowded, noisy, and hectic, with staff constantly moving around and patients coming and going. I was simply asked to lie down and wait, with little communication from the staff. They drew my blood for the PRP treatment and applied numbing cream to my face. After that, I waited approximately 1.5 hours with numbing cream still on my face before anyone attended to me. It was only after I asked what was happening that staff came back and removed the cream. I was then instructed to move to another bed that had just been vacated by another patient. I did not see the bed being cleaned or the linens being changed before I was asked to lie down, which made me uncomfortable from a hygiene standpoint. The actual procedures themselves felt rushed and lasted less than 25 minutes in total. Despite spending about 4.5 hours at the clinic, most of that time consisted of waiting. The overall impression I got was that the clinic accommodates a very high volume of patients, and as a result, the experience feels assembly-line style rather than personalized. Communication was minimal, the atmosphere was chaotic, and I never felt fully informed or cared for throughout the process. While the staff were not rude and the treatments were completed as scheduled, the experience fell short of my expectations. If you’re looking for a highly personalized consultation, detailed skin analysis, a calm environment, and more attentive patient care, this clinic may not be the best fit. However, if your priority is simply getting procedures done at a relatively quick pace in a high-volume clinic, your experience may differ from mine. Overall rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5)
