Later, I learned that this procedure is actually quite different from what is known in Japan as “ura-hamura,” which honestly surprised me. It felt great to gain a better understanding and new knowledge about the differences. Since I am a bit older, I was advised during the consultation that rather than simply repositioning fat, it would be more effective to remove excess skin and perform a lifting procedure. Based on this, I proceeded with lower blepharoplasty. I am currently in recovery, and it has only been 7 days since the surgery. I have already had my stitches removed, and even at this early stage, I can tell every time I look in the mirror that the procedure was successful. I am very satisfied with the results so far. During the consultation, I didn’t speak Korean as I am Japanese, but I really appreciated how the staff adjusted their speaking pace and used simple, easy-to-understand expressions so that I could follow along without difficulty.

I finally got my double eyelid surgery today at a clinic called ES Cheongdam in Cheongdam, Seoul! I had seen so many gorgeous before-and-after pics on X, and I just knew I had to check this place out on my next trip to Korea. So here I am—and honestly? I’m already super happy with how it turned out. Okay, real talk—the price was a little higher than I expected, and definitely more than what I saw on the Gangnam Unni app. But after going through everything, it totally made sense and felt worth it, so no regrets at all. Also… I have to say this—the doctor is SO handsome. Like?? He said he’s in his early 40s but there’s no way. He looks way younger. I was genuinely shook. And you know what they say—beautiful people know beauty best. So yeah, I’m really glad I chose ES Cheongdam. I heard stitch removal is usually around day 7, so I’ll be coming back then. And apparently, they even offer a free laser treatment to help with scarring?? That’s such a win. In Japan, you often get charged depending on how many stitches you have, which can get stressful real quick. But in Korea, the clinic actually removes your stitches for free and even includes aftercare services like this, which is amazing.
